Description - ProRail has taken note of a new technology (Fibre Optic Movement Sensoring developed by Focus Sensors) that offers the possibility of monitoring shifts in an earthen track. This is an existing technology that offers opportunities for application by P roRail, but is still unknown. To test the application of this technology, ProRail intends to award an order to Focus Sensors for a pilot study on one track section. The aim of the test is to determine whether the technique provides reliable and sufficiently accurate information about ground displacement. The order has a value of €273,000.
