Description - Scope : More ETC booths to be installed to reduce expressway traffic congestion . Construction of new Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) booths at the expressways to reduce the heavy traffic congestion during office hours at the exit gates. ETCs are cu rrently installed only at the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway. Necessary plans for the installation of the ETCs at the Kerawalapitiya Interchange and other interchanges on other expressways in the future.Steps should be taken to popularize the electronic payment system (prepaid card) ETC among the expressway users.
